OUR STORY
Keith and Tracey moved to the Bulkley Valley over 20 years ago and raised their two kids here. During this time they have been very active in their small northern community of Smithers. Keith enjoys teaching and helping others to succeed, so in 2017 Flashpoint was created to instruct individuals and instructors alike First Aid.
Over the past few years, Flashpoint has been able to grow and become a Training Partner with Red Cross along with becoming an Instructor Development Centre. Tracey and Keith continue to work as a team every day to build their business into something that benefits the people and community of Northern, BC.

Our Instructors have years of real life experience performing First Aid. This is why we are able to offer only the best educational training.
Keith is our senior instructor with over 35 years of experience in the fire service. He has been instructing for over 25 years in first aid course delivery and Instructor development. Keith’s experience transforms the classroom into realistic settings while making the learning fun & enjoyable.

Keith is not only an owner of the business a long with his Wife Tracey but is also the senior instructor for Flashpoint Consulting Inc. He has a degree in Applied Business with a main focus in Emergency Service in addition to a degree in Public Administration and Emergency Management. This combined with 25 years of Instructing First aid and instructor development courses, as well as 35 years with fire service and training; Keith is able to transform the classroom into realistic settings while making the learning fun and enjoyable.
When Keith isn't teaching, you will find him on the golf course, camping, cross country skiing or of course, visiting his grand daughters.
Matt has been an instructor with Flashpoint Consulting Inc. since 2019. In the 13 years of living in Smithers, BC performed many roles in the community's emergency services including serving as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Smithers Fire Services & working as a Paramedic for the Provincial Ambulance Service.

Matt is involved as Director for Bulkley Emergency Support Services (ESS) which allowed him to be deployed during the 2021 wildfire season as the Branch Coordinator for the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako Emergency Operations Centre. At the Coast Mountain College, Matt was the Program Developer and Lead Instructor for “Introduction to Healthcare Program”. He is now the Assistant Fire Chief and Training Officer for Smithers Fire Rescue.
Even though Matt is a busy individual he still enjoys alpine skiing, backcountry hiking and paddling lakes and rivers during his "down time".
